The STELLAR™ Field Day

The STELLAR™ Field Day kicks off the harvest season, field sessions and tastings of the Hot Climate Partnership apple and pear varieties.

The STELLAR™ Field Day was held at IRTA and international fruit industry professionals had the opportunity to take an in-depth look at STELLAR™, the early harvest apple variety from the Hot Climate Partnership.

Nearly 70 industry professionals from 16 different countries attended the event, where they had the chance to taste STELLAR™, observe experimental trees and a rootstock trial at IRTA Mollerussa, and visit a trial in a commercial orchard.

STELLAR™ is an early-harvest apple variety specifically bred to thrive in warm climates and withstand the challenging weather conditions of Catalonia’s fruit-growing regions. This Field Day underscored the importance of applied research and international collaboration in addressing key challenges in the agri-food sector.
